The Analysis of Figurative Language and Moral Value on the Song “Drown” From album “That’s the Spirit” by Bring Me the Horizon

Figurative language is the piece of semantic. With semantic, the listener of the song lyrics will know the genuine significance of the song lyrics. But many persons maybe not focused on the song lyric used in the song. Then many persons just like because of the music are good or just love the singer. This study aims to identify the figurative language and the moral value implied in the “Drown” song lyric by Bring Me the Horizon. A descriptive qualitative study was used as the research design, and also the focus of this study is on identifying and interpreting the song lyric. The finding showed that the song lyrics consist of five hyperboles, three imagery, two personifications, and three rhetoric for the figurative language. Also, the interpretations of the moral value are six interpretations. The data regarding moral value is discussed further in this study. Lastly, these results suggest that song lyrics are helpful in learning and developing the student skills in figurative language
